Took our dog there for his first time which lasted maybe 6 hours and he came home with 2 of his paws torn open and bleeding along with horrible scratching on his side, stomach paws like he had been in some horrible fight. Now he is a Great Dane and always gets along awesome with every dog we have ever seen and after a few hours looks like he was abused or in some sort of dog fight. This first time was free but I can tell you what, they will never get any of my hard earned money because at the end of the day, it's all about the dogs. And in my opinion, they failed.
Awesome place! My dog absolutely loves it there! She's a high energy breed so it's great that she plays ALL day. When I bring her home she just sleeps until the next day. Great staff, good price, and a nice size complex. I've been to a few other doggy daycare and boarding facilities in the St. Louis/St. Charles area, and this one is my favorite by far. I'm also pretty sure that some of these "bad reviews" on google for this business are fake Google profiles. Take it from some one who takes their dog there EVERYDAY. You won't be disappointed with Baxter's.
My two dogs love coming here. The people who watch the dogs are very responsible. My dog played too hard and hurt his ankle and they called me immediately. The injury wasn't bad and wasn't their fault, but it made me feel safe knowing I'd always be informed if something happened.
My chocolate lab LOVES this place! I usually have to board him anywhere from 1-3 weeks because I travel a lot, and it makes me feel SO good knowing I can leave him somewhere safe where he will be able to play. Every other kennel I've tried is a literal kennel, where the dogs spend all day in a crate and you have to pay extra for 15 minutes of play time. Baxter's is like one big play house for the dogs, and my lab always comes home exhausted from playing (stinky, but exhausted!) They always remember him by name and they are always excited when I call to reserve his space. I am more than happy to send my friends here, I trust them with my baby and I cannot say that about most places!
We've been taking our golden retriever Max here since he was a puppy and he LOVES it. I swear that Baxter's is the only reason we survived puppyhood. One afternoon of daycamp wore our little guy out for days. The staff here is great and they are always excited to see him and remember him by name. Prices have increased quite a bit since we first started taking him so we don't go quite as often anymore, but he's always one happy dog when he comes home. Only complaints are that one time he boarded here for a rainy week and came home with a respiratory infection - vet said he probably wasn't dried off enough and came down with it. We talked to the staff about making sure he always got dried off and have never had an issue since.
